I agree with women having more “roles” than men, but I would however disagree that this implies less variety required by the male wardrobe.  

What I’m more getting at here is: men don’t have skirts or dresses. There are less forms of clothing for males. The dress clothes are much less nuanced and very restricted- so pay attention to details.


What are the Levi’s 501s of women’s jeans?

This is the exact problem at which I’m hinting. The women’s market is flooded. Jeans aren’t necessarily a dominant item and it’s more about what you have the money to buy than staple items. Jeans, in my opinion, were never really intended to be worn by women, so they look okay, but it’s not a cut intended for hips. I could get into the racism of various clothing lines with sizing and cut but I’ll refrain because it actually makes me upset.

But with dudes, jeans are a super sensitive item. In my opinion, you fuck one thing up in picking out a pair of jeans and you look like a complete fool. I’d rather the male form not exist in jeans. Fit is everything and most males don’t really grasp this.

GENERAL RULES FOR THE MALE FORM + JEANS:

1. no light wash (if you are buying 501s, please get the dark wash)

2. no skinny (some exceptions here…like SWAGG)

3. no flare, bootcut or any variation on this theme

4. no fake deconstructed look

5. no low rise
